Days Between Dates Calculator
Count the days, weeks and weekdays between two dates. Free, instant and no sign-up.
How this days between dates calculator works
Enter a start date and an end date as year, month and day. The calculator counts the days from the start date up to the end date, and also shows the result in weeks and days, the number of weekdays (Monday to Friday) and the approximate number of months.
The formula
Days between = end date − start date. The calculator counts every calendar day including leap days, so the answer is correct across years. The end date itself is not counted, so January 1 to January 2 is 1 day.
Example
From January 1, 2026 to December 25, 2026 there are 358 days. That is 51 weeks and 1 day, or about 11.8 months.
What people use it for
- Counting down to an event, trip or deadline
- Working out how long you have been in a job or a home
- Checking a notice period or a contract length
- Planning a project schedule in weekdays
Tips
Weekdays do not remove public holidays, so subtract those yourself if they matter. If you need an inclusive count that includes both the start and end dates, add 1 to the result. To find a person's exact age, use the Age Calculator.
